Reception

Welcome to Reception 

  

Class Teacher: Mrs Hardy (Monday to Thursday) and Miss Craggs (Friday)

Things to remember 

Please make sure your child has a water bottle in school every day and has a warm, waterproof coat. 

Reading books and reading records should be brought into school daily. 

  

Reading 

Our phonics scheme is Junior Learning this is a systematic progression where children are introduced to letters in a specific order. It is a 6-part phase progression (Nursery to Year 2). Junior Learning Phonics provides a structured and systematic approach to teaching early phonics skills. Through daily, engaging sessions, children learn to recognise and pronounce sounds, link sounds to graphemes and apply their developing phonics knowledge when reading and writing. The programme uses repetition, songs, actions, stories and practical activities to help children develop confidence and secure their understanding. 

  

Homework 

Reading Books will be given out weekly. Please sign your child’s reading record every time they read.  

  

PE 

Our PE days this year are Thursday and Friday.
