  • Art Exhibition

    Mon 14 Mar 2016 K Wilkinson

On 11th March, the School Hall was converted into an art gallery for the afternoon. Every child in School had produced an original piece of art in the style of a famous artist, and these mini-masterpieces had been framed, catalogued and hung in the gallery. Parents were invited to attend the exhibition, browse the art work and, should they wish to do so, purchase their child’s work of art. The aim of the event was to develop the children’s understanding of the value of art in our lives whilst raising funds for School.

    Update...

The total commission earned by school was £246.

Thank you to everyone who purchased their child's art.

Wed 24 Feb 2016 Mr Gerrard

    News story image 0

The school has recently been congratulated by the Department for Education and included in the 2016 Pupil Premium Awards.

A formal letter from Sam Gyimah MP (Parliamentary Under Secretary of State) arrived in school on 05.02.2016 and here is a summary of what it said,

    ' Dear Mr Gerrard

It gives me great pleasure to write to you and congratulate your school on winning a local award in the Pupil Premium Awards 2016.

The reason you have been selected is that you are one of the high achieving schools in the country in terms of the attainment and progress of your disadvantaged pupils since 2011. It is clear that you and your staff have provided your disadvantaged pupils with a good start in life and prepared them well for secondary school. I would like to congratulate your governors, parents , staff and pupils for their hard work and success, and thank you for your leadership in making such a difference to the future success of your pupils.

Finally, I would also encourage you to share your achievements with other schools so that they can learn from your strengths and experience.'

We are obviously very proud of this achievement and wanted to share it with the whole school community.

As the Head Teacher I would like to congratulate all my staff and pupils as this is their achievement!

    (Mr Gerrard)
