We have been learning about measure. This involved the children using every day language, such as length, size, longest, shortest and same. They all participated in ordering pieces of ribbon to determine longest / shortest. We then moved on to how we could measure using our body. The children decided that using our feet would be a good idea. I measured the length of the floor using my feet,then one of the children did it. The children then decided that this wasn't the best way to measure as all our feet are different sizes. From here we progressed to using more standard means of measuring using a ruler. The children now have access to measuring 'independently' in our Maths Area and applying their learning.
