Yellow Class

Welcome to Yellow Class.

Smithills Farm & Smithills Hall

Year 1 and Year 2 went on their school trip to Smithills Farm and Smithills Hall. The sun shone down us as we fed and held the animals, had a ride on a tractor and had rides on the donkeys. Then we went to visit Smithills Hall where we dressed as Victorian House Servants. We then set to work like the servants would have to, washing, ironing, rug beating etc. The children agreed it was hard work but really enjoyed the roles.

A great day was had by all our children and staff.
Please take a look at the Year 1 slideshows of the day...

Environment Day 24th May 2012

We held our annual Environment Day on the 24th May 2012. The sun shone for us and the whole school worked hard weeding, digging and planting all of the schools grounds and gardens. Well done everyone! The school looks great !

Christening of Louis Alexander Class

As lots of new baby brothers and sisters were being born, Blue and Yellow Class decided to learn all about Babies. They voted on Baby Names and learnt about the meaning of different names. The class doll was named Louis Alexander Class by the children and the parents and godparents were chosen out of a hat.
On Friday 11th May 2012 Blue and Yellow Class took him to church to be christened by Reverend Dave. A wonderful afternoon was had by all and then we had a lovely piece of Christening Cake which was kindly made for us by Hannah's Mummy. A huge 'Thank You' to Hannah's Mummy from everyone in Blue and Yellow Class....It was delicious!

Autumn Walk!

On the 29th Sept 2011 Blue and Yellow Class went on our Autumn Walk .
Sunhats, sun cream and wellies were the order of the day as it felt more like a Summer's Day.
Off we went to George's Wood where we looked for the signs of autumn.
The children collected leaves and twigs to bring back to school. We saw berries and mushrooms growing and even saw some chickens on a local allotment. We passed the local stables and were lucky enough to be invited in to look at the horses and a parrot in an aviary which loved chatting to our children.
After saying goodbye to the bird and thanking the owner of the stables we made our way back to school in time for lunch.
A lovely autumn walk was had by all!
Yellow Class have settled in wonderfully and have been busy making displays for their classroom:
