Christmas time 🎅🏽
The children have had an amazing few weeks celebrating their first Christmas time at school. At the beginning of December the children wrote their present lists and letters to Father Christmas, hoping that they were on the good list. 🤞🏼 We practised wrapping up Christmas presents in the creative workshop and the children enjoyed sharing and re-enacting some lovely Christmas stories with their nursery friends. We found out that lots of cheeky visitors had moved in with the children at home throughout the month of December and the children couldn’t wait to share their daily news about the antics of their own mischievous elves.
The children went on their first visit to our lovely church to find out about the true meaning of Christmas time and we learnt lots of Christmas songs and hymns. The Christmas nativity play was a great success and all the children looked amazing in their costumes. They were very proud to perform the play to their family members and the nursery teachers were blown away by how much the children had developed in confidence throughout the Autumn Term.
Towards the end of the Term, the children had their first Christmas party at school . They were very excited when a special visitor arrived to find out what they would like for Christmas. 🎅🏽 We also tucked into our first delicious Christmas dinner, pulling crackers and having a lovely time with our nursery friends.
We received lots of Tapestry observations from our parents and carers about the children Watching Frozen 2 at the cinema, so during the last week of our first, full Term, the Nursery staff planned a lovely Frozen party as a little surprise for the children. Nursery were very excited to dress up as their favourite character and were even more delighted when a special guest turned up who especially enjoyed giving warm hugs☃️. The children had a wonderful last week taking part in our Frozen workshop where they designed and created their own snowman and snowflake decorations, carried out some ice experiments and followed instructions to make their own delicious hot chocolate. What a super first Term at Nursery ⭐️We wish you all a very merry Christmas 🎄
