Police Visit Reception & Nursery

We have been talking about people who help us and especially our ‘Emergency Services’.
Our Foundation Unit had a visit from some very important people, ‘The Police’. We were very lucky to have DI Martin Hopkinson who is a Policeman to come and talk to us and bring a Police Van with other Police Officers.
Martin told us all about his job and what the Police do to help us. He also spoke about stranger danger and how we can keep safe. We tried on police helmets, held the handcuffs and the baton that Martin had brought in to show us. Then Mrs Harrison was dressed as a Police Officer and Mrs Trayford was the robber. Mrs Harrison put the handcuffs on Mrs Trayford and put her in jail.  Our children laughed so much at this!
Then we went out to see the Police Van. Our children sat in the Police Van, turned on the blue flashing lights and turned the police sirens on too.
What a fantastic experience for our children!
