Gruffalo play-dough art 👍
We have been looking at the story of the Gruffalo and learning all about the different characters in the book. This week we have focused on the character of the Gruffalo. The children were able to tell us lots of things about the Gruffalo and described his features brilliantly 😁.
We showed the children our brown play dough. It didn’t smell like a Gruffalo though, it smelt like chocolate 🍫😁. Together we looked for different resources to add to the brown dough to create our Gruffalo art. We found buttons, feathers, felt, foam, wooden sticks, pipe cleaners and jewels to make orange eyes, purple prickles, green warts and black tongues! 👍
We challenged our nursery children to design their own Gruffalo in a frame. We were amazed at the language the children used and without any help every child added all of the Gruffalo’s features.
In the words of the Gruffalo himself, “Astounding”. Well done children, your Gruffalo play-dough art blew us away 😍👏.
