In Yellow Class the children have been celebrating Chinese New Year. Mrs Cornford explained why Chinese New Year is the most important of the Chinese holidays, and is a time of feasting with the family, celebration, fireworks and gift-giving. Yellow Class made their own Chinese Menus, New Year Cards and sat down to a Chinese Feast which the children loved.

Yellow Class filled 3 rubber gloves with water. One was placed in the classroom, another in the freezer and one hung from a tree outside. We waited a day and then brought the gloves back to the classroom to see what had happened to each glove.

‘Community Christmas Spirit’
All classes took part in our ‘Community Christmas Spirit’. This was an opportunity for us to give something back to our community by inviting them into school to celebrate Christmas.
Each year group performed a Christmas song whilst our guests enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies. Please have a look at Year 1 & 2 singing at the event.
A big Thank You to everyone who came and we hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did. Mr Gerrard & The Team. |
