Wonderful Wednesday Welly Walks 🤗
We had a lovely welly walk this morning. The rain was replaced by some lovely winter sunshine and so nursery headed off to the woods.
The birds were in song this morning and we heard lots of tweets. From the gates at the front of school we also heard lots of cars passing by.
We crunched over the stones and then made our way to the junior field.
The field was very muddy today, and lots of birds were on the grass looking for worms🪱 . We even noticed that some buds were appearing on the trees 👍.
As we chanted squelch squerch through the mud, the children heard some neigh sounds coming from the field. We rushed ahead to wave at the horses.
The children then explored their environment and climbed the trees using the climbing handles that have been added to the tree trunks. Some children had a try on the rope ladder too. At first the children found this tricky, but very quickly got the hang of the ladder 🥰, taking risks, persevering and challenging themselves. A few of our children didn’t want to try the rope ladder today - but they might have a go next time 🤗.
As the sun shone down upon the children, we finished our lovely welly walk off with a play in the woods and remembered to hug the trees too 🌳. We raced to the bottom of the field and our little winner leapt into Mrs Connelly’s arms as the race champion 🏆.
