Gruffalo crumble 🥣
Today the children were excited to make gruffalo crumble at snack time. Firstly we used the little mouse puppet and repeated the lines from the story. We talked about the rhyming words crumble and rumble and the children enjoyed looking at all the ingredients that we would be using during our baking session. The children washed their hands and followed all my instructions carefully. We described the texture of the dry oats and how the texture changed when we added milk and heated the ingredients in the microwave. The children were all eager to tell me about how they had their own microwaves at home and what they liked to cook in them. Then the children selected blueberries, strawberries, raisins and chocolate chips to add to their mixture. Finally they loved adding the sticky syrup, using strong hands to mix it all up. They loved crumbling the lotus biscuits on top of their delicious crumble and the gruffalo puppets watched us as we all tucked in and ate it all up. What a lovely morning! The children were keen to make scrambled snake, owl ice cream and roasted Fox next. Well done children, I hope you enjoyed your delicious gruffalo crumble 🥣💖💖
