Trip to Farmer Ted's.
Blue and Yellow Reception Class went on their school trip to Farmer Ted's farm. The children met lots of different animals, went on a tractor ride and even watched a cow being milked. A great day was had by all.

| Trip to Knowsley Safari Park 15th June 2011
Yellow Class Yr1's travelled by coach to Knowsley Safari Park. We drove through the Safari Park and saw lions, rhinos, giraffes, elephants, camels, gazelles and the famous monkeys who were sat on a car trying to rip off the windscreen wiper. We all laughed at that!. |
Blue and Yellow Class have had a visit from the Police. Finlay's dad is a Police Officer and came to school to tell us about his job. He and his colleague Seamus took our fingerprints and we all got to keep them in a keyring.
Later on PC Panda came to give us a cuddle and play with us.

Yellow Class had some very special guests come to visit the children...
Weddings
Blue and Yellow Class have been learning about ' Weddings ' the past couple of weeks.
We have planned a wedding, sent invitations, ordered a wedding cake, held stag and hen parties and held a pretend wedding at Christ Church Ainsworth with Reverend Dave and a reception back at school for the wedding party and guests.
All the children have thoroughly enjoyed this topic as well as all the staff.
A DVD of the actual wedding and reception will be available to purchase (all proceeds going to Blue and Yellow Class resources). Details to follow soon.

Toy Story Party
Yellow and Blue Classes had a Toy Story Party on the last day of half term.

Chinese New Year
Yellow Class have been learning about the Chinese New Year.
We have been busy making Dragons and Lanterns.
We have enjoyed lots of Chinese food and have been doing a Dragon Dance.
Light and Dark
Yellow Class are learning about light and dark. We have been celebrating Diwali - the Hindu festival of light. We have been learning about the story and have had our hands painted with henna.
We had a lovely time celebrating Bonfire Night. Mr Gerrard lit fireworks for us and we ate delicious food!
We have a Discovery Den in our classroom which helps us learn about different light sources and is a lovely place to be with our friends.
In maths we are learning all about teen numbers and learning how to count on.
In our writing we are remembering capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.
